"Someone killed my father", I got out, the words sounding hard and bald in that quiet room. "I want revenge. He's a witch. I want to strip his powers away."
Suddenly this all seemed so impossible, so unbelievable. What was I doing? Who was I? This was even me.
"You believe in witches then?"
"I have to. I am one." Oh God, what if this was a cop or something? Was I doing something illegal? Was this a trap? Get out of here!
"And this witch wronged you?"
"He killed my father. I want to destroy him." ... READ MORE
- The rite might have failed, but something happened. Wishes and desires come to light.
- Did somebody kill Thais and Clio's father? If so, who?
- Clio receives a premonition at the rite. Can she stop destiny?
- Luc makes his choice; so does Richard.
- The dead returns; one of the "living" departs...
Show Spoilers
- Clio has a vision of her own death--that is soon to come. Thais finds out Daedalus killed her father.
- Clio teams up with Daedalus. Clio wants to cheat her pending death. Daedalus has...other agendas.
- Thais conspires with a mysterious witch to avenge her father's death.
- Richard and Manon oddly begin to age.
- Richard and Clio have sex.
- Thais strips Daedalus of his powers.
- The mystery witch that helps Thais strip Daedalus of his powers is really Malita (obvious!).
- When Thais strips of Daedalus of his powers, his dark power was released from him, and Milita uses this to open the Source.
- Malita reveals that Cerise's daughter was really fathered by Daedalus, not Richard.
- The Tréize are not technically "immortal". They're life was actually prolonged--thirteen generations. Clio and Thais are the 13th generation. Their time is almost up.
- Malita kills Cerise. Years ago, Cerise's death was used as a "sacrifice". Her death gave Malita and Tréize a prolonged life. Malita has returned to repeat the rite to extend their life.
- Manon, now a woman, attacks the twins with a binding spell; the twins fall into the Source, and Clio drowns. Malita uses a death spell to kill Manon. Malita brings Clio back to life, stating that she "needs her". (Note: It was not Manon who tried to killed the twins in the earlier books, excluding Richard; that fact is still unknown.)
- Richard and Clio get together (we can assume). Thais and Luc get together (we can assume???). Honestly, Thais and Luc agree to be "friends" (interpretations persist).
