Thais
Thais Allard and Clio Martin have a few "problems". The rite has been done, and both twins are educated with some serious revelations. Daedalus Planchon, the wanna-be leader of the Tréize, killed their father (from Thais's vision), and Clio has foreseen her own death. Clio wants to work with Daedalus to complete the rite. She figures if the rite is completed correctly, she will become immortal, thus escaping death. However, Thais secretly wants Daedalus destroyed. The twins argue, and a rift forms between the twins; each one with hidden agendas. Their argument ceases when Clio senses Richard Landry and Andre-Luc Martin coming up their front door step.

Clio
Thais is grating on Clio's nerves, and Luc and Richard, who are there to see Petra Martin/Nan about Luc's predicament, is making her nerves worse. However, the twins are in for a surprise: Luc's once beautiful face is now hideous. The source of his problem is magical, and everybody believes it came from the rite. Petra gives Luc a magical remedy to help counteract the spell. She sends the twins to fetch some supplies.
Richard follows Clio and tells her they have to work out their situation. Clio tells him to get lost, but he's persistent and kisses her. Clio can't help the feelings she has for him, and that fact infuriates her.
* * *
The aftermath of the rite has left some changes within the group. So far, fellow Tréize members Sophie and Manon broke up. Manon wanted to use to rite's power to kill herself, but Sophie used the rite's power to work against Manon's spell. Manon feels betrayed by her lover and moves in with another Tréize member, Axelle Gauvin. Luc comments that Daedalus still feels weak from the rite--strangely.
Clio announces that she is going to her bestfriend's house, Racey Copeland (but to soon turns out to be lie).

A Hallow Shell Within a Year
Daedalus bemoans about how the rite failed and how--mysteriously--his powers are draining. He insists that Melita Martin must be found. He senses Clio at his door step and wonders what she wants. Clio, looking so much like Cerise did 240 years ago in his eyes, tells Daedalus that she wants to become immortal.

Clio
Clio reveals to Daedalus that she envisioned her own death at the rite. She will do whatever it takes to prevent that soon-to-come prophecy. Daedalus asks who sent her...and if she is tough enough. Daedalus suddenly goes into her mind, taking Clio by surprise. She ponders if she is over her head but quickly reassures herself that she is strong and can handle things. Daedalus, from scanning her mind, knows she is telling him the truth. He tells her he can teach her things, like how to take power. He verbalizes quick theories about the Source and escorts her to his secret magic room.
Daedalus gives Clio a lesson on taking energy from a source not her own. He takes out a crystal for the exercise. Clio helps him along, and in the end snatches the energy from the crystal, destroying it. Daedalus looks younger while Clio feels a burst of great energy. But Clio's joy is turned to horror as the energy drains away from her, leaving her disenchanted. Clio then faints.

Effortless Like Melita
Axelle marvels at how her powers now come to her almost "effortlessly". She muses that this was what Melita feels. Manon makes a bitter comment, and Axelle is annoyed at Manon's self-pitying attitude. But Axelle is suddenly bitter herself. She concludes that Melita was selfish and wanted all the power for herself. She feels betrayed, especially since she was Melita's best friend, practically sisters. Axelle tells Manon that she and Melita were blood sisters, but Melita never shared a piece of her magical discoveries with her. At this point Axelle is angry and believes that Melita is not dead. Axelle thinks she and Melita--together--could have had the world, but Melita, being who she was, wanted to keep Axelle down.

Clio
Clio wakes up in the morning suffering from the worst hangover imaginable. But this is not a hangover from heavy partying; it's a heavy hangover from practicing dark magick. She looks in the mirror and concludes that she looks just awful. Petra sees Clio and asks what is wrong. Clio lies and says it might have been from a taco she ate at Racey's house. Clio says she can't go to school, and Petra agrees, but Petra reads in the morning paper that the school is closed due to asbestos found in the school's old insulation. School's closed for the rest of the week. Thais is excited about having no school while Clio believes she can sleep in for a year.
Thais believes Richard has the hots for Clio, but Clio brushes off the touchy subject. Thais leaves, and Clio remembers the time when she was about to beat Richard to a bloody pulp. He told her he doesn't love her or anybody, but he finds much value within her. After last night, though, she thinks he is wrong.

Thais
Thais goes to Bontinika and searches in the store's restricted section for books on Dark Magick. She wants to avenge her father's death and take Daedalus's powers away from him, completely. She finds a book titled Beware, but the text is too faded to be readable. Thais wishes something would magically appear and give her what she needs. But nothing happens--except a small paper falling to the floor. She opens it to see two faded words: Mama Loup's.
Thais searches and finds Mama Loup's. She enters the store, and the clerk, Mama Loup, asks her what she wants. When Thais announces she wants a stripping spell, the clerk pauses for a second. To make her believe, Thais touches the woman's hand and transmits some power to her. The clerk's eyes widen; the woman then exits behind a bamboo curtain. Soon a woman named Carmela comes out to greet Thais. Thais cannot see her well but feels her presence. Thais tells her what she wants, and Carmela asks if she is really prepared. The mysterious woman gives Thais a list of items she will need for the spell. She tells Thais to not come back until she is ready.

Damned All Over Again
Marcel Theroux attends mass at the St. Louis Cathedral. He wishes masses were still held in Latin. He remembers the time when they were, and he has conflicting feelings about his now-adopted Christian faith.
When mass is over, he decides to go to Café du Monde. He sees two members of the Téize there: Jules and Claire. Claire asks what Marcel was thinking when he tried to kill himself at the rite. If a simple knife through the heart would have worked, they would have checked out a long time ago. Jules frowns at her, but Claire stands by her statement. After all, it's not like any of them never tried to kill themselves. Marcel explains that he thought the rite would work. When Claire makes a darken comment about Daedalus, Jules protests and defends Daedalus's actions. Claire scoffs and calls Jules naive and says Daedalus only cares about himself.
Claire is still upset that Daedalus's summon spell is still active, keeping her in New Orleans. When Marcel whispers he just wants it all to "end", Jules becomes disgusted with the both of them. Jules argues that they wallow too much in their own self-pity; they could be helping people all over the world. Marcel replies that he has already done that--for over a century in Ireland.
Jules abruptly leaves the table. Claire makes a snide comment when he is gone but adds he's a good person. Marcel wonders out loud what is up between the two of them. Claire confesses she is in love with him...but he doesn't love her.
Marcel asks what they should do about Daedalus, and Claire recommends they talk to Axelle.

Thais
Thais is in the car with her boyfriend, Kevin LaTour. She has silently decided to take the "dark path"; she has even started collecting the ingredients to Carmela's spell. Suddenly, a girl runs into the street, right in front of Kevin's car. Thais uses magic to push the girl out of the street. Kevin passes out, and the car crashes close to a fire hydrant. Thais screams for somebody to call 911. The police and ambulance come. A paramedic comments that Kevin appears to have been struck by lightning, but there is no thunderstorm in sight. Thais wonders.
Thais
The police bring Thais home. Thais talks with Petra, who is in the kitchen, about what happened. Petra asks if she has been practicing "displacement spells". Thais says no. Petra explains that Thais was sucking Kevin's life force for her spell. Thais remembers the last time Kevin passed out. Petra says that she will have to start learning how to build boundaries, but it will take time. Petra suggests she might have to stop seeing Kevin. Thais, in tears, does not know what to say.
Another Hundred Years
Sophie goes to Axelle's house to talk with Manon. She asks for Manon's forgiveness, but Manon denies her. In fact, Manon says Sophie worked against only because Sophie was scarred to be alone. Sophie exclaims her love for Manon, and Manon finally let's the ball drop: Manon was always second best, for Sophie true love is Marcel. Marcel, who is also at Axelle's house, is shocked--along with Axelle. Sophie flees from the humiliation.

Clio
Clio deplores over her now crappy social life while in the cemetary with Daedalus. Clio continues her teachings, keeping it a secret from Petia and Thais. In this lesson, Clio will draw power from the earth. When the spell is done, nothing happens at first. Then, like a rush of solar heat, Clio is engulfed with power. Clio is scared but Daedalus tells her to let it in; she will not be harmed. But as quickly as it comes it dissapates, leaving Clio in despair. Clio now releases why Melita went to such lengths to obtain power.

Thais
Thais tries to visit Kevin, but his father, Mr. LaTour, says that his son needs rest. Thais is flooded with guilt. Thais heads to Daedealus's house. She needs to get pieces of his hair--in secret, of course--for Carmela's spell. Thais uses her power to unlock his door. She sneaks upstairs to get hair strands from Daedalus's brush. She suddenly hears Daedalus with a female, so she runs and hides. She recognizes the voice: Clio. Thais is shocked but stealthily leaves the house. She wonders how could Clio be studying with him.
Her Face
Luc goes to Petra's house. Petra is troubled; she feels "plots" against her in the air. Petra questions Luc's motivations to date both Thais and Clio. Could it be to get one pregnant--just like Cerise--for the rite? Luc says no, but he internally cautions himself to be careful with his answers. While Petra dismisses her feelings, Thais enters to room. Luc asks her how about her boyfriend, and she replies they broke up. Luc's heart flares with hope and wistfully stares at Thais as she leaves out the door.
Perhaps Thais
Daedalus notes that Clio is very strong in magic. If Melita returns one member of the Téize has to go. Maybe Thais? Sophie?
Axelle enters to room. Daedalus suddenly realizes that something is different about Axelle. After the rite, he and Petra, two of the most powerful members, have weakened while Axelle has become more powerful. Axelle announces it time to bring Melita home.
Thais
Thais goes to Mama Loup's and gives Carmela her ingredients. Carmela collects Thais's stuff and is surprised that she actually got Daedalus's hair. Thais says she wants a spell for revenge, a spell to strip the witch of his powers. However, Thais doesn't want him killed. Carmela comments stripping is worst than death, and Thais agrees. Carmela suggests they do a spell to make Thais decide. Carmela suggests they use an animal, but Thais shoots down the idea; she explains animals are innocent, unlike humans. So, Carmela demonstrates with a plant. Thais is amazed but somewhat revolted; however, Thais goes on with her plan.
Clio
The twins have no appetite at dinner. Clio is concerned about her sister, for Thais appears aloof and ill. Clio tells Petra that she wants to postpone her "ascension". Petra protests but Clio is adamant about not going through with it. Secretly, Clio sees no point in it. She is already more powerful than anybody in the coven anyway. The argument leads to a stalemate. Both agree they will talk about it later.
Clio goes to Luc's place. Clio goes up to Luc's room only to see Sophie, crying, in his arms. Surprised, and just a tad jealous, Clio leaves. She is angry at Richard (who let her in) for not warning her about Sophie. Of course, they argue but soon kiss. They are interrupted by Sophie who is leaving.
Clio wonders if Sophie and Luc were lovers in the past; the thought infuriates her. Luc, now downstairs, demands what is between Richard and Clio. Clio says she's sleeping with Richard. However, her false slip makes her feel embarrassed, so she flees. Luc calls out to her, saying Sophie is his sister.
Stupid Idiot
Once Clio leaves, Luc turns to Richard, upset. Richard silently thanks Clio for her false slip; he's having fun toying with Luc. Luc warns Richard to stay away from Clio. Richard finds that amusing: since Luc can't have the twins, he doesn't want anybody to have them. But Richard ignores him; he is starting to want Clio even more. Luc retorts that Richard is the twins' grandfather. True, but the relation is so small it doesn't matter.
If He Had Loved Her
While attending church service, Marcel's mind begins to focus on three women: Axelle, Claire, and Sophie. All three women have ignored him during the centuries, but now he's finding out things about them that he hadn't known before. His mind shifts on Sophie. Sophie...she was in love with him before they became immortal; however, Marcel had only eyes for Cerise. He feels a bit forlorn at that thought. He missed out on Sophie.
Marcel leaves church. He thinks about Sophie again. At least with Sophie he wouldn't have been just "another guy" in her bed (like he was with Cerise). He wonders if Jules, Claire, or Axelle are available for lunch. He likes the thought of that. He has friends now.
WWCD?
Sophie is talking with Claire, still crying over Manon. Claire, wanting to shut down this sob subject, suggests she gets with Marcel. Claire suggests it's time for Sophie to move on. Sophie is hesitant; Marcel doesn't even know she's alive--or so she thinks.
Claire asks Sophie if she's been with a man. Blushing, Sophie says no. When Sophie was mortal, she was in love with Marcel, and her parents were watching her all the time. When Cerise died, she hoped maybe she had a chance with Marcel. But then Marcel disappeared. She assumed maybe Marcel took off with Melita. Soon Manon came along, and Sophie took care of her. Claire says Manon won't need a guardian for long; Richard and Manon are aging. This shocks Sophie, but she hasn't seen Manon in days.
The revelation gives Sophie hope; maybe Manon will take her back. Claire replies that Sophie still betrayed Manon. Sophie, feeling dejected once again, asks her what happens now. Claire doesn't know.
Clio
Clio is with Daedalus, checking inventory. They have the chalice of wind, the circle of ashes, but no feather of stone or necklace of water. Clio observes that Daedalus appears much weaker, leaning on a walking stick. She remembers Petra being weak as well. She then remembers Richard appearing different. Daedalus tells her that the feather of stone is with Richard, and he doesn't know how Richard got it. The necklace of water is still a mystery. He thinks that maybe it was a necklace of moonstones, like the one Melita wore at the first rite. But he says Petra believes the necklace of water is tears or blood.
Clio comments that Daedalus has worked hard to try to recreate the rite. He answers yes, and who knows when they will be another one. Clio suggests for him to create a new spell--a spell that will create the same effects as the original rite. Daedalus replies that he did, in the 30s with half the members. Clio asks him why he wants to recreate the rite. He already has power, immortality, money, etc. He reveals that he wants more power. Clio says that's okay with her--unless he turns on her or goes after her loved ones. She thinks about Thais. Her sister believes Daedalus killed their father. Clio is not so sure.
She expects Daedalus to laugh at her comment, but he is silent. He considers Clio's idea. Besides...he has Clio now.
Thais
Thais is with Kevin at Botanika. Halloween is coming up, and Kevin invites her to a Halloween dance. He says they have to dress up. Thais tells him she has to get permission from her grandmother. After all, Halloween is the most important holiday in bonne magie.
Axelle and Manon enter the shop. Thais notices Manon is now a teenager. Thais feels Axelle trying to read her thoughts, and she quickly blocks her. Unfortunately, it drains Kevin, and he starts to look ill. Thais quickly apologizes. She did it again--she used magic without using a limitation spell to protect him. She concludes that she has to breakup with him.
The couple heads to Kevin's house. Thais says she will take a streetcar home. As Thais walks to the street car stop, she starts to cry about her "out-of-control" magic. She hears a car honk, and lo and behold it's Clio. Thais gets in the car. When Clio offers coffee, Thais agrees, even though she doesn't want to.
At the coffee shop Clio asks Thais what's wrong. When Thais tells her, Clio suggests ways to break up with Kevin. But all of Clio's options sound bad to Thais, so she changes the subject. The girls talk about Manon and the rite. Soon the twins become quiet, lost in thought.
Clio finally says she trusts no one--except for Thais. She suggests they do a magical pact. Thais wonders if she can trust Clio--after all, she's is studying with Daedalus. Eventually, Thais agrees.
Maman
An exhausted Petra comes home to an empty house. She believes Thais is with Kevin, breaking up with him. She takes in some of the blame of Thais's predicament.
Petra feels so weak; she wonders if death is finally approaching. She thinks about her house and motherhood. She thinks about Clio, and then Thais. As she drinks her tea, she looks in the cup to see a vision of Thais and Clio together. Yes, they were safe. However...the scene quickly changes. She sees a face she has never seen in 242 years: a familiar face, alive. (Can you guess?)
Could This be Happening?
Daedalus visits his family tomb. He wonders if this is the end for him. While he muses, a familiar presence comes. Daedalus says he has come as requested. The mysterious person asks him to reveal everything.
Thais
Carmela is impressed with Thais. Thais has come a long way very quickly. Under Carmela's guidance Thais has learned more in the past few days than she has in the past two months with Petra and Clio. The woman instructs Thais to light a candle with magic. Thais does so with speed and ease. Carmela eyes shine with glee.
Carmela asks Thais to strip a nearby cat of its powers. Thais is hesitant. Stripping a plant and an earthworm was horrible, but an animal? Thais thinks this is a test, and she refuses. She says animals are innocent. Carmela appears surprised...and less out of focus for a second. The older witch asks if Thais can strip a man of his powers because of his guilt. Thais says yes--when the time comes. Thais leaves and says she will back tomorrow.
Clio
Clio leaves from Deadalus feeling like crap. Thankfully, it's not as bad as before. She travels 3 blocks to get to her rental car. She stops at a corner store to buy her a drink. The sugar rush makes her feel better. When Clio enters the car, Richard is in the backseat. He demands to know what she is doing with Daedalus. Clio notices that Richard is older, and he looks positively hot. Richard tells her not to trust Daedalus. He doesn't want to Clio to get hurt. Clio scoffs at him and asks why he even cares.
They continue to argue, and Clio leaves the car. She flees to a private garden close by, but Richard is right behind her. After a some more bickering, he finally admits he wants her. He doesn't understand why she is still desires Luc. All Luc sees in Clio is the face of her sister, Thais. Clio's desire for Richard ignites. He tells her that whatever she wants, he will give it to her. All she has to do is ask.
She asks him to kiss her. He does.
She asks for more... and Richard gives everything.
Note: If you can't read between the lines, they have sex.
One Daughter is Alive
Petra and Ouida are working on Luc's face. Luc tenses when Thais comes in. Thais has a black cat and says he needs a home. Petra asks if she is okay, and she replies she is fine. Thais acknowledges Ouida but ignores Luc. Luc quickly gets up and exchanges brief words with Thais. Then, he leaves. Petra sees that Luc is still in love with Thais.
Ouida is worried about Thais; she doesn't look well. Petra agrees and feels the twins are involved in something magical, something very dark. Ouida asks if she tried scrying, and Petra winces at the memory of the mysterious woman in her vision. She tells Ouida that Melita's back. Ouida is stunned and asks how the older woman feels about it. Petra is worried but finally admits that her daughter is dark, very dark. With Malita back, the Tréize is fourteen, one too many.
They're Very, Very Strong
Richard reflects over having sex with Clio. He thought it was incredible but believes it might not change anything. He visits Axelle. Daedalus, Jules, and Manon are there. Manon shows him her driver's license she now has. Deadalus tells Richard that they are talking about the Source. He is writing a spell that will open it. He needs the coven's most powerful members. He mentions needing the twins. Richard asks why he needs to twins. Daedalus says the twins are very, very strong--stronger than the whole coven combined probably. Manon announces she is in, and Axelle, who is now smug about her growing powers, says yes also. Richard says he's in but quickly leaves.
Richard heads home. He flops on his bead and becomes lost in thought. Luc soon enters and gives him a po'boy to eat. Richard tells Luc about Daedalus's plans. Luc is quiet and doesn't say much. Richard believes Luc has something planned; this worries him.
Clio
Friday. Things appeared normal for a change. Clio is still battling her feelings for Richard. She admits that sex with him was wonderful, but she doesn't know if it will change anything between them. Thais asks her if she is okay. Clio admits she is "freaked". Suddenly the phone rings; it's Daedalus. He tells her to meet him tonight at the cemetery around nine. They will go over some things before the big moment, which is tomorrow morning, just before daybreak.
Later that evening Clio practices with Daedalus. He tells her to go home because she knows her stuff. But before she heads home, Clio decides to head to club Amadeo's to get one drink.
Clio bumps into Claire at the club. Claire invites Clio to join her in the back where it's quieter. Clio follows...only to find Richard and Luc there. She notes Luc looks better, but he doesn't have the same affect on her as he once did. Luc comments that magic is coming off of Clio in waves. Clio tries to cover it up, failing badly. Richard and Luc scuffle over Clio, and Luc reveals to Clio that she and Richard are related. Richard explodes and starts to attack Luc. Claire tries to break up the fight while Clio watches in horror. Clio feels, once again, betrayed by Richard.
Clio leaves the club and gets into her car. Suddenly, the right car door opens, and Luc jumps in. Clio starts screaming at him to get out. He asks if she slept with Richard, which she doesn't answer. Luc warns her about Richard, and even though Luc sounds sincere, Clio knows it could be an act. But Clio's had enough; she has important things to think about, like tonight's rite.
Thais
It's 3 AM, and Thais is fighting to stay awake. She notices Clio awake and then gone. As she fights falling asleep, she realizes Clio spelled her. She uses a small spell to counteract the sleeping spell. Thais wakes up and quickly gets dressed. She grabs some hidden witch tools to take with her. She heads downstairs and looks from one of the windows. A car drives up--Daedalus's car--picking up Clio. She wonders what is going on with between Clio and Daedalus. She decides to follow them.
She Will Be Pleased
Clio is uncharacteristically quiet. But Daedalus is silently proud of her. He's pleased; Melita will be pleased.
Clio
Clio is tired but at the same time wired. She asks Daedalus where the rest of the members are, and he replies that they will come at daybreak. They scatter a circle of ashes and start the ritual. As Clio recites the spell, she notices a sliver of darkness to the spell that she didn't pick up yesterday. But her concerns soon vanish when she is hit with a surge of power. It feels so beautiful, so powerful. Clio laughs, and Daedalus, looking healthy and young, says it's time to open the Source.
Daedalus continues the spell. Clio tries to pay attention, but she is distracted by the leaves falling. Then something changes. A feeling of incredible chill hits Clio. She realizes that leaves are not falling but birds. Clio is shocked and disrupts the spell. Daedalus is angry and says that he has to start all over again.
With the spell ruined Daedalus becomes distraught and says Clio just doesn't understand. Clio realizes the final piece of the puzzle. She says Cerise died that night long ago as a sacrifice. She died in order for them, the Treéize, to live. Daedalus is in disbelief.
Then Thais appears, walking towards them with a wand in hand.
Thais
Thais's time is now or never. She says her spell that will strip Daedalus of his powers. She modified the spell she already learned from Carmela to do the job. Clio cries out in protest, but Thais continues, even if the whole thing is draining her. As his powers drain into her wand, Thais directs it out into the world, not really knowing what to do with it. As the last of his powers are drained, the spell collapses unto itself. Exhausted, Thais falls to the ground.
Carmela appears. She is surprised at Thais but impressed. Unfortunately, Thais did the stripping too soon; Carmela still had need of Daedalus. But no matter, since Carmela only has to adjust her plans.
Thais hears Daedalus whisper "Melita", and Thais objects. Carmela replies that even though Thais is strong, she is not too bright. Suddenly, Petra appears, protecting Thais from Carmela. Petra reveals that Carmela is Carmelita aka Melita in the flesh.
Darkness Reigns
Carmelita and Petra embrace. Thais, stupidly, repeats the obvious fact: Carmela is Carmelita. Petra wonders how Thais knows Melita by that name. Melita states the twins are strong. She felt them all the way from Europe.
Clio was correct when she said Cerise was used as a sacrifice for immortality. However, this "immortality" is not true immortality after all; the Tréize's lifespan was only extended for 13 generations. Clio and Thais are the thirteenth generation. The Source needs to be reopened to renew the "contact". She needs the Tréize, the twins, and the tools. Unfortunately, with Daedalus out of commission, Malita has no use for him. She states she should have been more careful about the twins. Their darkness rivals even hers. Petra demands to know what she is talking about. Melita reveals another bombshell: Daedalus was the father of Cerise's baby. Petra aargues that the twins are not dark. Melita thinks otherwise.
Before Petra can protest even further, Melita reopens the Source. The tree cracks as water spills out. The ground splits and the water fills the huge crack in the ground.
Clio
Clio feels the ground shake. Melita looks at Thais and explains that the power she used to open the Source was Daedalus's power that Thais stripped. She warns Thais to never let that type of power, especially dark power, into the world for some somebody take, to make use of. Many thoughts rush into Clio's head. She thinks about Thais stripping Daedalus, their ancestor, of his powers. But, despite all, Thais is Clio's sister.
Petra asks the twins if they are all right. Manon, who suddenly appears, answers they are not. In fact, Manon wished Melita never came. She states the twins will never be all right and wants "it" all to end. Manon screams out a spell and throws a crystal at the twins.
Thais
Thais and Clio are bound. The Source continues to widen, and soon both twins fall into the water. Thais realizes that Manon did this to make the rite incomplete. With the twins dead, the generation stops with them. Thais can only hold on to Clio's hand as they both drown. Thais thinks about Clio, her twin; Luc, her one true love; and Petra, her grandmother. The water is clear, and Thais can see her sister underwater. A look of pain crosses Clio's face. Then Clio mouths I love you and air bubbles cease. Thais soon feels Clio go limp. Dead.
Not Part of the Plan at All
Petra rushes towards Manon to confront the girl. But when Petra hears Jules cry, "Melita, no!", she realizes far too late that Melita is reciting a death spell for Manon.
Manon didn't know what hit her. She falls to to ground. Dead.
Chaos breaks out as all the Tréize members arrive. Ouida checks on Daedalus. Sophie goes to Manon's body. Richard demands to know where the twins are. Luc screams about Thais and threatens Melita. Marcel tells Sophie he is sorry about Manon. Jules is still in shock about Manon. Petra is numb with the turn of events. Claire holds the Petra's hand in support.
Melita says a spell, and the twins come to the surface. Some of the members grab the twins from the water. Thais starts to cough, but Clio is clearly dead. Richard holds Clio; he's numb from grief.
Melita whispers that she needs both twins and slams her fist on Clio's chest. She says a spell that horrifies Petra. But the spell works. Clio is brought back to life.
Thais
Thais wakes up in Luc's arms. She demands to know where her sister is. Thais then sees Richard holding Clio, and she suddenly realizes that he loves Clio. But, most of all, she sees Clio alive.
Clio
Clio wakes up. She notes that Luc has chosen Thais. Clio finds herself in the arms of Richard. She touches his face and says she is glad to see him.
Beginning Again
Richard visits Petra's house. He thinks about Cerise and is disgusted that Daedalus fathered Cerise's baby. Did he even know Cerise at all? His thoughts turn to Clio; what he feels for Clio is so much stronger, scarier.
Ouida opens the door. Richard inquiries about Petra's condition. Ouida answers that Petra is doing suprisingly well. Richard meets up with Luc and Petra in the kitchen. Ouida tell Richard that Melita is gone. Richard says he doesn't understand how Melita killed Manon. Petra believes that Melita is one with immense power. Even though all Tréize members became stronger during the original rite, Melita kept most of the power for herself. When Richard suggests that maybe the Melita tried to kill the twins, Ouida comments that the twins would be already dead if that was the case.
Richards goes to see Clio. Clio is in bed just staring at the ceiling. He expects her to argue with him, but all Clio does is hold out her hand. Clio asks him if it's over. He replies it is. She then asks him to hold her. He does just that.
Thais
Thais is sitting on the levee meditating in the sun. Luc soon appears. He tells Thais that the spell on his face was actually his own spell. He just wanted chance to make Thais love him again. His face being disfigured made him realize that he had to make some changes in himself. He didn't care what she did; she being alive and happy made him happy.
Thais comments about the darkness within her. Luc replies that darkness is within everyone. Everybody has choices--even Melita. Luc laces his fingers with hers. He asks her to be his...friend. Thais, looking down at their hands entwined, and thinking how perfect it looks, says she can do that.
Yes, she can be his...friend.
