- Where can I buy Sweep and/or Balefire books (US)?
Presently, Sweep books are available at prominent bookstore chains--for the most part. Here are chain US bookstores available, in no particular order:
- Books A Million
- Barnes and Noble
- Borders
- B. Dalton (owned by B&N)
- Borders
- ...etc.
- ...and independent bookstores...
- Where can I buy Sweep and/or Balefire books in Canada?
Not sure (since I don't live there!). Email me with some of your suggestions if you live there. However, if you live in Canada, just head to the nearest bookstore.
- My store doesn't carry [insert book number here]...
The easiest thing to do is go the the cashier and/or customer service desk and request that the bookstore order whichever book numbers you want from their warehouse. If they cannot do such things, go to another bookstore. Before going out to bookstores and waste fuel and time, call the bookstore first.
The other option is to go online. I also heard that Alloy.com has mail catalogs that used to have Sweep advertised to buy. I'm not sure if they do that anymore.
You can also purchase the books at the publisher's site here.
- About the Sweep reissues...
Recently, Penguin Putnam reissued the Sweep books (mainly in the US/Canada) with new a packing and price. As of April 2009, the first 14 books are out, with with book 15 out late July 2009. Check the here for more details.
However, if you are impatient and want to finish the series, Sweep's first editions are still out there. I've seen them at bargin bins and outlet bookstores at dirt cheap prices. Some bookstores might still shelve the first editions, and you might get lucky paying $4.99 (the original price), or $5.99 (the 2nd revisted street price). Want more options? Garage sales, libaries, online auctions, etc.
If you want to be consistent with the new covers, then you will have to wait.
- Do I need a credit card to order online?
For the most part, you need a credit card. But some places might take money orders or checks. Depends. Check the purchasing policy for each online bookstore you go to.
- Is purchasing online safe?
Most reputable stores online are safe. Also, the latest browsers have encryption that, for the most part, protects your private information from leaking out. No system (internet or not) is fool proof, though. But it is said that you have more security purchasing online then you will ever have in the store. Check out Safe Online Shopping, Better Business Bureau, and BBB Online for more information on safe online purchasing.
- What if I live outside the North America?
Most online stores will accept overseas shipping, but it depends on the store. Again, check the store's policies!
- Is overseas shipping more expensive?
Of course. Anything shipping overseas is more expensive and takes longer.
