Chapter One: Morgan
Morgan Rowlands has a strange dream about a hawk. She wakes up troubled over the dream. She goes downstairs and gets some breakfast.

Chapter Two: Hunter
Hunter Niall and his father, Daniel Niall, are discussing magick at Practical Magick. He makes a mistake and feels guilty to make it in front of his dad. They both start talking about Fiona, Hunter's late mother. Hunter says he will call Kennet Muir, the Seeker's mentor, to quit the Council. He calls Kennet and confesses he wants to quit the Council. Kennet is not too happy. The conversations ends, and two blood witches enter into Practical Magick asking for Hunter for help. They believe the High Priestess of their coven is practicing dark magick.

Chapter Three: Morgan
Morgan goes to the circle Kithic meeting. Before the circle she asks Hunter about his talk with Kennet Muir. The circle starts and Morgan has visions about shape-shifting again. She is confused by the visions but doesn't tell anybody.

Chapter Four: Hunter
Morgan, Hunter, Robbie Gurevitch, and Bree Warren are all together having a picnic. Soon Bree and Robbie leave and Morgan and Hunter joke and make out. Hunter sees a hawk catching prey which disturbs Morgan. Hunter talks about forming a new and better Council. Morgan asks what's stopping him.

Hunter goes home and picks up the phone that's ringing. It's Sky Eventide. Sky says she's coming back to Widow's Vale.

Hunter meets Celia Evans and Robin Goodacre, the two blood witches that asked for his help earlier, at a local cafe. They talk about their high priestess Patrice and their suspicions of her practicing dark magick. They say Patrice is under a lot of stress because her son, Joshua, is sick with host-versus-graft-disease. They want Hunter to investigate. Hunter agrees.

Chapter Five: Morgan
Morgan has another strange dream. The dreams are now scaring her. She does some homework to help her fall asleep. She dreams again and this time it terrifies her. She wakes up in her bed to find her bare legs and feet wet, as if she was outside--just like in the dream. Morgan promises to tell Alyce Fernbrake and Bethany Malone tomorrow. Morgan goes downstairs to find Dagda, her cat, hissing at her.

Morgan and her sister, Mary K., ride to school. Morgan convinces her sister to patch things up with Alisa Soto, Mary K.'s good friend. Mary K. agrees.

Chapter Six: Hunter
Hunter is helping Alyce with some books when Morgan comes in. She confesses the dream and sleepwalking she did last night. This alarms both Hunter and Alyce. Morgan says in her dream there were some symbols. The symbol's remind her of the ones she saw in Cal Blaire's old seòmar. They all agree to take some action to stop the dreams. Alyce leaves the room to make Morgan a special sedative tea to help her have a dreamless sleep. Morgan and Hunter talk privately.

Chapter Seven: Morgan
Morgan drinks the tea Alyce gives her. She hears a voice before dawn and realizes the voice belongs to Cal. After school Morgan goes with Hunter to pick up Sky at the airport. Morgan tells him about what happened last night. Once they pick up Sky, Hunter tells Morgan to meet him at Bethany's house in an hour and a half.

Morgan arrives a little late. As she climbs upstairs, she sees a shadow of a bird. It leaves her slightly disconcerted. Bethany, Hunter, Alyce, and Morgan talk about Morgan's dreams and Cal. Bethany suggests it could be Cal's anam, a soul. Hunter calls Kennet about how the Council disposed of Cal and Selene's bodies. Bethany makes a strong sleeping sedative that will knock Morgan out and bring no dreams. By tomorrow Bethany and Alyce hope to give Morgan some clearer answers.

Chapter Eight: Hunter
Hunter goes home to find Sky making some tea. Daniel comes back home before eleven o'clock. Hunter talks with him about Cal and the anam theory. Hunter also discusses about Patrice Pearson's predicament, and Daniel promises to go with Hunter to Patrice's house.

The next day Daniel and Hunter stake out Patrice's house. They are almost attacked by a small dog. Hunter calls Morgan. Morgan believes she didn't dream. Hunter vows if Cal has come back, he will destroy him. Somehow.

Hunter and Daniel go to meet Celia and Robin. They discuss about Patrice. Daniel says if Patrice is using dark magick, stripping might be the only option. Hunter thinks there might be another way.

Chapter Nine: Morgan
Before Morgan goes to bed, she does some searching on the Internet about dreams. She soon grows tired and sleeps. She starts to dream and uses a spell to reveal whatever is being hidden from her in the dream world. She sees a hawk once again.

She sends a witch message to Killian MacEwan. Killian calls her and they talk. Morgan asks about Ciaran MacEwan, their father, and Killian replies he's in Scotland doing "rehab". He also states that his mother is divorcing Ciaran, and Amyranth is falling into ruins. He asks Morgan what she is doing for Beltane and Morgan replies the circle is having a celebration. Killian says he's coming, and before Morgan can protest, he hangs up.

Morgan has a dream about Cal. Cal tries to seduce her into his bed but she refuses him. Morgan wakes up to find her self at the cliffs, the same cliffs where Cal and Hunter fought months ago. She is terrified and sends a witch message to Hunter to come help her.

Chapter Ten: Hunter
Hunter hears Morgan's witch message and hurries to meet Morgan. Morgan tells him she almost fell to her death and it was Cal in her dreams. Hunter is outraged. He takes Morgan home.

Hunter goes home and lays in bed thinking about what Morgan told him. He calls Alyce to tell her everything. He goes to the kitchen to find Sky there and talks with her. Sky is not happy. She is trying to plan Beltane for circle Kithic, but Raven Meltzer is also making plans. She agreed to meet Raven to discuss things. Hunter realizes she is nervous.

Later, Hunter talks with his father about Morgan and Patrice. Daniel says that Patrice might have to get her powers stripped. Hunter says there has to be an alternative and informs his father on what he has researched on the subject. Daniel finds it interesting.

Chapter Eleven: Morgan
Eoife McNabb calls Morgan to tell her she has been accepted at a prestigious school of magick in northern Scotland. Morgan is excited but nervous about what her parents will say. Morgan goes to Practical Magick to discuss her dreams with Hunter and Alyce. Alyce mentions about the fire-winged hawk in Morgan's dreams. Alyce suggests they set up a magickal trap for Cal's spirit.

Chapter Twelve: Hunter
Hunter goes to Thorton to investigate Patrice. The circle begins normally, but soon Hunter witnesses Patrice putting her fellow members to sleep to steal their powers. When the circle is over, Hunter notices Robin is with Patrice. He follows them.

Hunter follows Patrice to a state park. He suddenly looses track of her and is amazed that she can hide her trail in such a small period of time. When he finally catches up with her, he sees Robin unconscious and Patrice ready to steal Robin's life force. Hunter runs to put a braigh on her, but she fires a bolt of witch fire at him and takes off in the woods. Eventually, Hunter catches up with her. Patrice sobs and asks Hunter to see if Robin is okay. Patrice apologizes and says she was using the life force to help keep her son alive. She tells Hunter to do what he must with her, but Hunter says he wants to find another way.

Chapter Thirteen: Morgan
Morgan announces to her family about Eiofe's offer to practice magick in Scotland. Her family is hesitant, but they tell her they will think it over. Afterwards, she goes to Practical Magick to commence the magickal trap for Cal.

Morgan dreams of Cal. Cal, once again, tries to seduce her. Morgan resists and wakes up. She finds that a hawk is over her body. Alyce, Bethany, and Hunter are there trying to capture the hawk. The hawk's mouth open and a black smoke oozes out. Morgan is shocked to find the it wasn't Cal after all but Selene.

Morgan tries to stab the smoke matter, but her athame has little to affect on it. Selene's anam mocks her and tells Morgan she will destroy her and those she loves. Morgan prays to her mother for guidance. Suddenly, the shape-shifting spell comes to her lips. She says the spell and changes into a hawk. She flies right out of Alyce's window and relishes the change. She notices that Selene has followed her. Morgan and Selene battle it out and Morgan triumphs. She kills Selene's anam and doesn't regret it.

Chapter Fourteen: Hunter
Hunter talks with his dad about the Patrice situation. Together they make up a new stripping spell, called the "Bubble Spell". This spell will limit how Patrice practices her magick. She cannot use magick ever again to affect another living being. Patrice reluctantly agrees to this.

Hunter goes to Morgan's house. He wants to show her something.

Chapter Fifteen: Morgan
Hunter takes Morgan to Jousha Pearson. He leaves her alone with the young boy. Morgan talks briefly with the boy and uses her magick to heal the boy from his illness.

Beltane's Eve. Circle Kithic and friends are celebrating it together. Sky and Raven are getting along and Killian is there to join in the celebration. Hunter tells Morgan he is leaving for England next month. Morgan says she still has a chance to go to school in Scotland for the summer. Together, they go off to a clearing alone. They embrace, kiss, and finally make love.

Epilogue
Morgan and Hunter are boarding a plane. Morgan is going to school in Scotland and Hunter is going home. Hunter gives her a silver Claddagh ring. Morgan gives a final wave to her family and boards the plane.
