Chapter One: Cal Blaire
(Diary Entry: Morgan). First day as a Junior for Morgan Rowlands and her best friend, Bree Warren, is an eventful one: sexy newcomer Cal Blaire enrolls into their school. Morgan is swooned, along with Bree.
Chapter Two: The Circle
Cal invites Morgan and Bree to a party he's having Saturday night, along with other people from school. Of course, Bree and Morgan want to go. Morgan secretly wishes Cal could be hers.
Chapter Three: I Wish
(Diary Entry: Cal). Morgan goes to Cal's party. Cal explains to the group that the party is in celebration of Mabon, a Wiccan celebration. People are confused, and Cal gives them a choice: stay or leave. Some leave, others like Morgan and Bree stay. Cal commences a Circle.
Chapter Four: Banishing
Cal makes a circle and explains that it is a special one. He asks everybody to "banish" something they want to free themselves from. Morgan, a little hesitant, banishes limitations and then faints.
Chapter Five: Headachy
(Diary Entry: Cal). It's the next day. Morgan is a groggy from last night's events but dresses to go to church. Three numbers flash in her mind when she enters into the church. Later, she realizes the numbers from her mind are the same numbers to the hymn songs sung during the service. She wonders how she knows the numbers before hand.
Chapter Six: Practical Magick
(Diary Entry: Morgan). Morgan goes with Bree to an occult store named Practical Magick. Morgan talks with the store clerk. He gives her a book titled The Seven Great Clans: Origins of Witchcraft Examined to read.
Chapter Seven: Metamorphosis
(Diary Entry: Morgan). Morgan and family have dinner with Aunt Eileen. Aunt Eileen brings her date, Paula Steen. Morgan has a psychic flash about Paula being vet.
The next day Morgan and her sister Mary K. go to school. When Morgan arrives, Cal is there along with others from Cal's party. They are talking about another Circle meeting. Three original guests at the Mabon party are not invited to the next circle.
Chapter Eight: Cal and Bree
(Diary Entry: Cal). Bree admits her liking for Cal. She wants him to be hers. Morgan is devastated. Morgan feels that her dreams with Cal--no matter how bleak--are doomed.
Chapter Nine: Thirsty
(Diary Entry: Morgan). Cal personally talks to Morgan about attending the next Circle. Morgan reluctantly agrees.
Chapter Ten: Fire
(Diary Entry: Cal). Morgan and Bree go Cal's house for the Circle. They finally meet Cal's mother, Selene Belltower. During the meeting, Morgan feels a little uneasy, especially since there is evidence that Bree and Cal have meet on the side. Cal does an informal Circle and Morgan faints.
Chapter Eleven: Water
Everybody goes skinny dipping in Cal's pool. Morgan is scared and doesn't want to take her clothes off in front of people. Morgan wants to leave, but Cal throws her into the pool. Morgan is suddenly overwhelmed with the magickal night.
Chapter Twelve: What Goes Around
Bree accuses Morgan of trying to take Cal away from her. Morgan protests. Bree starts crying and says she is in love with him and doesn't understand her feelings.
Chapter Thirteen: Stirring
(Diary Entry: Morgan). Morgan skips class to go to Practical Magick. She meets up with Paula and a woman from her church. Later that day, Morgan's parents find her Wiccan books. Her parents, especially her mother, are outraged and want the books out of the house.
Chapter Fourteen: Deeper
Morgan confides with Bree and her friend, Robbie Gurevitch, about her fight with her parents. Cal calls Morgan later that night and tires to persuade her to come to the next Circle meeting. She says no.
Chapter Fifteen: Kilburn Abbey
(Diary Entry: Cal). Morgan and Mary K. go on a trip to Kilburn Abbey, a Catholic convent in New York. Morgan grows interested when she finds the convent's herb garden. The trip makes Morgan realize that she wants to be a witch.
Chapter Sixteen: Blood Witch
(Diary Entry: Cal). Morgan, Robbie, Bree, and other people from Cal's Circle decide to meet up at Bree's house to talk. The conversation moves to Blood Witches. Cal reveals that he is a Blood Witch but doesn't know what clan he's in. Morgan is a little unsettled by the thought of Blood Witch, but it lingers in her mind.
Chapter Seventeen: Trapped
(Diary Entry: Morgan). Jeanna asks if Morgan can come to the next Circle meeting. Morgan says she doesn't know. But on the day of the meeting, Morgan decides to defy her parents and make plans to go to the Circle anyway. But circumstances delay her, making her miss the meeting. Morgan vows to prove that she is interested in Wicca and plans to do a spell.
Chapter Eighteen: Consequences
Morgan decides to do a beauty potion and gives it to Robbie. Within a few days Robbie's skin clears up drastically and people finally notice him. Robbie tells the Cal about Morgan's spell. Cal is curious while Bree is angry.
Chapter Nineteen: A Dream
(Diary Entry: Cal). Morgan has a troubled dream. Even though her dream is filled with many images, the dream concludes with visions of Morgan being a baby. Later, Mary K. verbalizes her concern for Morgan, and Morgan tries to console her.
Chapter Twenty: Broken
Bree confesses she wants Morgan to leave the Circle. Morgan is outraged that Bree would choose Cal over their friendship. After the argument, Morgan gets out of the car and walks home.
Chapter Twenty-One: The Thin Line
Morgan goes to Practical Magick. She finds another store clerk there named Alyce. They talk briefly. Morgan meets up with the Circle at school and states that she will continue to come to the meetings and wants to be a witch. Later, Bree announces to Morgan that she had sex with Cal. Morgan is angry and says that their fight before is not forgotten.

Chapter Twenty-Two: What I Am
(Diary Entry: Morgan). Morgan goes to the Circle meeting on Samhain. The Circle prepares for the celebration. During the celebration Morgan makes magick. Cal tells Morgan she is a true blood witch. He kisses her in front of the whole Circle.
