Chapter One: Falling
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). The books begins where Blood Witch left off: Hunter Niall has fallen off the cliff into the Hudson river, and Cal Blaire and Morgan Rowlands are still trying to sort out what just happened. Cal insists that Morgan has done the right thing; she saved his life. Morgan knows this but still feels guilty. They go back to Cal's house and Cal falls asleep. Morgan slips away in Cal's car and goes home. She calls the Police to report Hunter's whereabouts anonymously. She also tries to send Sky Eventide, Hunter's cousin, a witch message to help Hunter.

Chapter Two: Guilty
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Morgan is awaken by Mrs. Rowlands (her adopted mother), announcing her birthday. Morgan tells her mother for the family to go to Church and dinner afterwards without her. She says she feels too tired. When they leave, she heads back to the cliff where Hunter fell.

Morgan is greeted by Sky at the cliff. Sky demands to know where Hunter is, but Morgan is silent. Sky warns Morgan that she is watching her--and so is the Council. Sky leaves and Morgan heads to Cal's house. Selene Belltower opens the door and tries to assure Morgan that what she did was the best thing. Selene adds that Hunter was crazy and hated Cal.

Chapter Three: Dread
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Morgan's birthday dinner is bleak. She wants to participate but still thinks about what happened last night. Morgan calls Cal and they talk about last night's incident.

Monday. Morgan goes to school. She meets up with Robbie Gurevitch and talks about what happened at Bree Warren's new coven, Circle Kithic.

Morgan is concerned about Bree, and after class confesses to Bree that Sky is dangerous. Bree brusquely dismisses Morgan and retorts that Morgan would believe anything Cal says. Morgan slaps her. Bree is astound and angry.

Chapter Four: Haven
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Morgan is upset about her fight with Bree. Robbie is concerned, but she doesn't tell him much. Morgan calls Cal. During their phone conversation, Cal says she can't come over. He tells her Selene has out of town company and is working on a big project. Morgan decides to go to Practical Magick.

Alyce and Morgan talk. Morgan reveals that she found her mother's tools. Alyce advises Morgan to bind the tools to herself. The older woman gives Morgan the spell to do it.

Chapter Five: Bound
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Morgan goes to her attic, sets the tools down, and uses Alyce's spell to bind the witch tools to her. Morgan gets ready for bed and looks over Maeve Roirdan's (her biological mother) Book of Shadows. She uses her athame over her mother's BOS and notices secret entries. Morgan devours the new information and learns that her mother was seeing a Scottish witch named Ciaran behind Angus Bramsom's back.

Chapter Six: Knowledge
(Diary Entry: Sgàth). The next day Morgan is visited by Selene and Cal. Selene and Morgan talk about Maeve's tools. She tells Cal and Selene that she bound them to her, and both are shocked and angry at what Morgan has done.

Lunchtime at the Circle Cirrus table is a depressing one: nobody is happy--except for Ethan Sharp and Shannon Goodfine. A relationship seems to be building between them. After school Morgan and Mary K. head home. Mary K. wonders if her sister had sex with Cal yet. Morgan believes that Mary K.'s inquire has something to do with her seventeen-year-old boyfriend, Bakker Blackburn. Morgan is incensed.

Chapter Seven: Self
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Cal and Morgan are together (at her house) and discuss about what happened at the cliffs. Morgan is still shaken and Cal tries to comfort her. The subject shifts to Maeve's tools. Cal, in an indirect, casual way, says that binding the tools to her is wrong. Morgan replies that since they are her tools, she felt right binding them to her. Cal reveals that she is a "shooting star" and will take the Wiccan world "by storm"--if only she would let him guide her. He says nothing more.

That night Morgan practices with her magick. She scrys with fire to see two potential futures for herself. Suddenly, she gets sick vomits in the toilet. Cal calls concerned, but she says everything is fine.

Chapter Eight: Symbols
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). The next day Morgan and Robbie chat about Bree. He reveals what happened that night he met up with Bree at her house. Robbie says they made out but nothing more. Morgan warns him about Bree. She doesn't want to see her friend get hurt.

Cal talks to circle Cirrus about his agenda for the next circle meeting. Morgan and Cal go to Cal's house. Cal confesses that Hunter was right: he is a Woodbane. He also admits Hunter is his half brother. Selene interrupts his confession and asks him what he is doing. Cal is agitated with his mother and wants her to leave. She eventually does and Cal spells the door. He and Morgan make out. Afterwards, Cal wants to show her something.

Chapter Nine: Secrets
(Diary Entry: Sgàth). Cal shows Morgan his "secret sanctuary", but Morgan is not comfortable in the secret room. Cal confesses he would not show it to anyone else--but her. Morgan gives a lame excuse so she can leave the room.

Chapter Ten: Undercurrents
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Morgan goes home and tries to sort out Cal's confession. Morgan decides to go outside for some fresh air but senses somebody is there with her. She uses her magesight and sees a glimpse of blonde hair. At first, she thinks it's Hunter but concludes it must be Sky spying on her. Thanksgiving night Morgan reads Meaeve's BOS. She reads that Maeve's love, Ciaran, is married with children. Maeve sends Ciaran away. Morgan feels heartbroken for her mother.

Friday is a peaceful day for Morgan; she's finally alone. Cal calls her and they talk. Cal says he had a circle with his mother and a group of Woodbanes that came from out of town. They are very eager to meet up with Morgan. Morgan feels a sudden sense of fear. She ends the conversation with Cal quickly and thinks she is loosing her mind.

Chapter Eleven: Link
(Diary Entry: Sgàth). Morgan goes to Practical Magick and finds out Hunter is alive! Morgan is confused, and David says that she needs an explanation. Hunter tells her that Sky saved him. Morgan argues that the reason she used the athame on him was because he was killing Cal. Hunter counters that he was only doing his job. David interrupts the argument and says they both don't trust each other. Morgan decides to do a tàth meànma on Hunter (even though she doesn't know it's named tàth meànma). From the mind meld Morgan and Hunter develop a new sense of trust. Sky comes in and argues with Morgan, but Hunter calms her down. Morgan is confused about everything but is happy that Hunter is alive.

Chapter Twelve: The Bigger Picture
(Diary Entry: Sgàth). When Morgan gets home, she calls Cal and announces that Hunter is alive. Cal is shocked and appears furious. Morgan wonders why.

That night Mary K. tells Morgan she is having a date with Bakker. Morgan is irritated but doesn't say a word. She goes up stairs and studies some Wiccan books and Maeve's BOS. When Morgan senses somebody near the house, she goes outside to see Hunter there. Hunter says he's taking the sigils off the house. He also reveals a little more about his Seeker job and about the mysterious Dark Wave that has killed so many covens in Europe. Morgan feels sympathy for Hunter, and both of them almost kiss. Suddenly, they hear Mary K. scream. Morgan saves Mary K. from Bakker's attack. Afterwards, Hunter, who was there with Mary K., leaves.

Chapter Thirteen: The Circle
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Mary K. comes to Morgan the next day crying. Morgan comforts her sister as much as she can. Morgan tells her parents about what happened to Mary K. Morgan goes outside where her garden will be in the Spring and contemplates about doing a spell on Bakker for hurting Mary K.

Circle Cirrus meets at Ethan's house, and during the circle, Jenna is the one overwhelmed with magick this time, not Morgan. Cal helps her ground herself. Cal warns the coven before they go to stay away from Circle Kithic. Morgan is surprised by his warning.

Chapter Fourteen: Finding

Chapter Fifteen: Visions
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Sky is in awe with Morgan's powers, but Morgan is a little cautious with Sky. Sky reveals her reasons for being in America and wish Morgan could scry. Morgan says she can, and both Sky and Morgan form a two member circle. Morgan goes into a tàth meànma with Sky and finds that Sky is in love with Raven. Suddenly, they start to scry. Moments later, Morgan sees a shocking vision of Cal and Selene plotting against her. The truth is out: Cal is not what he seems to be, and what Hunter and Sky have been saying all this time is the truth. After the scrying, Sky explains to Morgan that Selene has been weeding out Woodbanes (while killing non-Woodbanes) for years, and Cal has been helping her since he was initiated. Morgan is shaken to the core.

Chapter Sixteen: Truth
(Diary Entry: Sgàth). Morgan is shocked and heart-broken over the truth. She feels betrayed by Cal and wants to confront him. But first she hides her mother's tools at Bree's house. Suddenly, Cal sends a witch message to her to come see him. A few minutes later, Morgan confronts Cal and says she knows the truth about him. Cal tries to deny it, but Morgan doesn't believe in him anymore. Cal confesses that she was his assignment, but he truly fell in love with her. He tries to coax Morgan back to him, but she is defiant and refuses him. Angry, Cal shoves Morgan in to her car and puts a binding spell on her.

Chapter Seventeen: The Seòmar
(Diary Entry: Gìomanach). Cal drives Morgan's car and is furious. He says they could have had something, if she would be willing. Morgan is terrified and sends a witch message to Bree for help. She tries to break free from the binding spell but just cannot. Desperate, Morgan lies to Cal and says that she still loves him, but Cal is not buying it. He locks her up in his seòmar and demands to know where the Maeve's tools are. Morgan refuses to answer. Cal strikes Morgan on the head, causing her to black out.
