Prologue:
Morgan Rowlands has a nightmare. She calls in her boyfriend, Hunter Niall, for solace. Hunter takes her dream seriously and says he will report her dream to the Intentional Council of Witches.

Chapter One: Prophecies
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan, Hunter, Sky Eventide, Raven Meltzer, Robbie Grurevitch, and Bree Warren are on the road to New York city to investigate a dark shape-shifting coven named Amyranth. The gang stay Bree's father's apartment in Manhattan.

Chapter Two: Searching
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan and group get acquainted with the apartment. Morgan starts planning her secrete mission while in New York: to find a mysterious watch that Ciaran gave to her late mother Maeve Roirdan.
Morgan talks to Bree privately about Robbie. Bree is sensitive about the issue and says she doesn't want a serious relationship with Robbie; it's safer that way. Frustrated with Bree's attitude, Morgan leaves.

Chapter Three: Witch Dance
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan goes to New York City Hall to locate the old residence of her late parents. The clerk cannot help Morgan. Desperate, Morgan uses magick to get access to confidential records.
That night the whole gang attends a club exclusively for witches. Morgan, Robbie, Bree, and Raven are in awe with the crackle of magick within the place.
Morgan is a little overwhelmed and feels out of place. Raven captures the attention of a sexy witch, which infuriates Sky. Robbie, on the other hand, grabs the attention of female witches while Bree, who is surrounded by male admirers, glares at Robbie and his female interests. Morgan soon leaves.

Chapter Four: Glamor
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Hunter sends Morgan a witch message, and Morgan returns back inside the club. She finds the guy who was flirting with Raven talking with her friends. His name is Killian and Morgan has an immediate liking to this stranger. Killian uses glamor to half show off and half impress Raven. Soon Hunter says they have to go.
At the apartment, Morgan asks Robbie to trade sleeping places with her so she can be alone with Hunter. Robbie agrees. That night Morgan and Hunter make out, almost making love, but Mr. Warren comes home and interrupts their romantic triste.

Chapter Five: Gifts of the Mage
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Hunter and Sky leave during the morning. Morgan and Bree decide to wait for them. When Hunter and Sky don't come back at their stated time, Morgan and Bree go shopping. The girls talk and argue about Robbie. Morgan finds a Wiccan store and goes in to look at their book selection. She meets up with a man, who states he is a teacher at the Columbia University. He teaches her a small but important trick to scrying. While Morgan is practicing, she passes out and has the same nightmare she's been having for the past few days. The teacher wakes her up and she thanks him and gives him her name.

Chapter Six: Healing
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan and Hunter talk together privately. Hunter reveals some information about the Amyranth cell. He informs her that their leader is Ciaran. Hunter warns Morgan to stay low and not use magick.
Morgan along with Robbie go and search for Morgan's birth parent's apartment.

Chapter Seven: The Watch
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Hunter is upset that he can't find Killian, and Morgan volunteers to use her scyring abilities to find him. Hunter agrees. Morgan scrys and finds Killian, but she cannot figure out exactly where he is. Hunter deduces that Killian could be hidden in a church in New York and sets to find him.
Saturday. Morgan and Robbie pose as a young married couple to get access to Morgan's birth parents' former apartment. To Morgan's horror, the tennet will not show them the apartment room that Morgan wants to see. Morgan uses magick to influence the women and finds her mother's watch. Afterwards, Robbie is upset at Morgan for using magick for manipulation. They argue and he soon leaves Morgan alone.

Chapter Eight: Spy
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan returns to the Warren apartment. Soon Hunter returns also. They comfort each other and Hunter leaves again to find Killian.
That night they have a circle to aid Hunter in finding Killian. Later, Hunter arrives with Killian. Kilian is annoyed and doesn't cooperate with anyone. Morgan talks to Killian alone and he opens up a little more towards her. Suddenly, both Morgan and Killian feel an intruder spying on them. Morgan sends a witch message to Hunter and Hunter comes. Morgan is positive that somebody was watching them. Everybody goes to bed. The next day they find Killian gone.

Chapter Nine: Connections
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Hunter wants Morgan to recap what happened last night. Hunter notices something in Morgan's statement that Morgan overlooked--a big pigeon by the window. Pigeons are not nocturnal. Hunter concludes the bird was a shape-shifter from Amyranth coven spying on them.
Morgan and Hunter go out to a "witch" shop to find information about Killian. The clerk, a Latin witch, tells Hunter she was only trying to help Killian. She gives Hunter a small spell to help track his parents down.

Chapter Ten: Signs
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). The next day Hunter leaves to find Cirian's former lover while Morgan tries to reconcile with Robbie. Morgan goes with Robbie to the museum. While at the museum, Morgan has another psychic vision. The vision reveals that Killian has been captured by Amyranth. With the help of Bree (via cell phone), Morgan locates the place were Killian is being held.

Chapter Eleven: Fated
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan breaks through the barrier spells that surround the house. When she goes in, she is knocked down by powerful magick. Morgan finds out from one of the shape-shifters that they didn't want Killian, they wanted her.

Chapter Twelve: Ciaran
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Morgan has been fooled all this time. Ciaran explains that everything was done by him. He tells Morgan that he wants to drain her of her powers. He also knows that it is she who Selene Belltower killed for.
A shape-shifter gives Ciaran the watch found in Morgan's pocket. Ciaran demands to know where Morgan got it from. Morgan rasps that it was her mother's, the women he killed. Ciaran is shocked. Morgan looses consciousness.
Morgan wakes up confused but soon realizes the Amyranth coven are preparing the draining ritual. Morgan tries to fight but it's no use. Suddenly, Hunter enters into the room and tries to save Morgan. When Hunter fails, Ciaran starts the Tàth Meànma ritual on Morgan and stops short. He flees from the room.

Chapter Thirteen: Truth
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). The ritual continues without Ciaran. But the ritual is suddenly thwarted when Hunter releases magnificent power to save Morgan. He gets Morgan and they both leave the house. Hunter and Morgan talk. Hunter tells Morgan that Ciaran is her father.

Chapter Fourteen: Tainted
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). Hunter explains that Ciaran gave him the power to save her. Ciaran couldn't kill his own flesh and blood. Since Morgan is Ciaran's daughter, Morgan believes her legacy is evil.

Chapter Fifteen: Broken
(Diary Entry: Ciaran). The gang returns to Widow's Vale. Morgan goes to the town's marina to be by herself. Hunter comes to her and confesses his love for her. Morgan is broken and breaks up with Hunter. She then flees.
