Chapter One: The Meeting
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan Rowlands is a nervous wreck. Her parents invite her boyfriend, Hunter Niall, for a "get to know each other" dinner. Morgan expects the worst, but gets only the best. Her parents, Aunt Eileen, and her Aunt's lover, Paula Steen, are smitten by Hunter. Everything goes perfectly.
The dinner ends, and Hunter whispers to Morgan that she should tell her sister, Mary K., the truth about what happened the night when Morgan killed Selene Belltower. Since that time, Mary K. has been having occasional nightmares. Morgan is reluctant but Hunter insists. Mary K. over hears them and demands to know what they are talking about. Morgan confesses and Mary K. is furious. Mary K. runs upstairs without a word.

Chapter Two: Contact
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan meets up with Circle Kithic and converses with them. Jeann Ruiz asks if Morgan studied for Mr. Powell's history test. Of course, Morgan didn't study for it.
After school Morgan goes to Hunter's house. He tells her he wants to teach her some defense magick. They practice and afterwards Morgan suggests they go to a movie. Sky Eventide comes downstairs. Morgan notices she appears depressed. She asks Sky if she wants to go to movies. Sky doesn't say anything.
Morgan and Hunter go to the local movie theater. The couple sees Robbie Gurevitch and Bree Warren there, also on a date. Robbie meets up with an elementary school friend named Jessica Watts. While Robbie chats with her, Bree is annoyed and interrupts their conversation.
The two couples separate: Hunter and Morgan go up to the balcony to see the movie while Robbie and Bree stay on the ground floor. Not long after the movie starts, Hunter has a vision and immediately wants to leave. Hunter says that its a message from his father, Daniel Niall, and is sure of it. He vows to find his father and mother.
Morgan finds her mother waiting for her at home. Mrs. Rowlands scolds her daughter about being late. Mrs. Rowlands feels that Morgan is slipping away. Morgan suggests a family night, which her mother agrees to.

Chapter Three: Attack
(Diary Entry: Alisa). Bree picks up Morgan for a circle meeting. Bree confesses that she feels possessive over Robbie, something she has never felt before. Morgan encourages her to tell Robbie about it, and Bree agrees.
Circle Kithic takes place in Hunter's room. Morgan meets up with Alisa Soto. The young girl appears occupied, troubled.
Sky introduces a witch named Erin Murphy to the whole group. After introductions the circle starts. Things start in a routine fashion, but soon things get chaotic. Suddenly, books start flying and light bulbs start shattering. Morgan starts a chant which the whole circle picks up. Soon the disruption stops. People look to Morgan for the cause (especially Alisa Soto), but Morgan insists it was not her. Hunter, Sky, Erin, and Morgan discuss possibilities. It is concluded that maybe Ciaran MacEwan is the culprit.

Chapter Four: The Vision
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Hunter takes Morgan home. During the drive, a thick fog forms and a figure appears. Morgan believes it's Cal Blaire but Hunter explains that the figure had a female form. Hunter believes that it's a message from his parents, but it could be Amyranth or Ciaran.
Morgan wakes up the next day to find nobody home. She goes to Widow's Diner to meet up with her parents for brunch. She finds Alisa there also.
Morgan goes to Hunter's house. She talks with Hunter, Sky, and Erin about last night's fog incident. Erin implies that it could be Morgan. Erin then decides to scry with water. The group forms a circle and Hunter goes into a trance and starts babbling in French. When he wakes up from his trance, he suggest that maybe his parents are trying to send him a message. Erin tells Morgan that they start the training at Practical Magick.
Hunter and Morgan talk privately. He says that Council has finally captured Ciaran. Morgan feels several emotions. She asks him if he would rather be with her, in Spain to see Ciaran captured, or to seek his parents. Hunter gives a cryptic reply.

Chapter Five: Forces
(Diary Entry: Alisa). Morgan gets her grades back for history. She failed her test. She tells Mr. Powell that she will do better and suggests doing extra credit work. Her teacher agrees.
Morgan talks with Bree. Bree confesses that she did not talk to Robbie, and he is pretty disturbed at what happened at the last circle. Morgan advises Bree to talk to him.
Morgan goes to her locker and can't get in. When she finally does, papers and books fly out. Alisa then walks up to Morgan and says she is leaving Circle Kithic. She also says that the magick Morgan practices is dangerous. Mary K. appears and asks what Alisa is talking about. Alisa lies to her and leaves.

Chapter Six: Restricted
(Diary Entry: Alisa). Morgan goes to Practical Magick to train with Erin. She is informed that Alyce Fernbrake and Erin are long-term friends. Alyce gives Erin a rare but dangerous book on magick titled On the Containement of Magick by Harris Soughton. Erin is thankful for the gift.
Morgan starts to practice with Erin privately. Morgan starts off good but gets a little too cocky. Erin "shows off" herself and creates an horrible illusion. Morgan is terrified and haphazardly tries to protect herself. Erin stops with the practice drills and tells Morgan that she is powerful but has no control of her magick. In Erin's eyes, this makes her dangerous. She suggests that Morgan take a break from magick. Morgan cannot believe Erin's proposal.
Mrs. Rowlands gets a phone call from Mr. Powell about Morgan's grades. She is incensed. Morgan and her mother have a fight. Her mother even suggests Catholic school. Morgan is shocked and promises to pick up her grade.
Morgan calls Hunter to inform him that she can't practice with Erin the next day. She adds that Erin wants her to learn about basic Wiccan magick. Hunter says it's wise advise. His reply leaves Morgan baffled. Mary K. overhears her sister talking about dark forces and confronts Morgan about it. The small argument ends on a bitter note.

Chapter Seven: Danger
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan meets up with Bree at school. Bree announces that Robbie needs some space. She appears angry and hurt. Morgan advises that Bree talk to Robbie.
Morgan calls her mother. She tells her she will be home at six for Family Night. After the phone call, Morgan heads for the library.
Morgan runs into Erin at the library. They talk. Morgan finds that Alisa and Mary K. are there. Morgan asks if they are doing a school project together, and Alisa replies they are writing a letter to the local newspaper about the dangers of witchcraft. Morgan is stunned and becomes angry. Alisa says she won't send in the letter, but Morgan is still feels betrayed, especially by her sister. Suddenly, books start flying and a book shelf falls on Morgan. She is okay, but Erin says her powers need to be tamed. Morgan can not help but agree.

Chapter Eight: Loss
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan and Erin go to Hunter's place. Erin explains to both Hunter and Sky that she wants to perform a ritual to rein Morgan's powers. Hunter protests that some of the events could be happening because of his parents. Erin agrees but she thinks most of the telekinetic events are happening because of Morgan. Morgan looks for support, but Sky and Hunter do not give her much.
After the ritual, Morgan goes home to find her mother angry. Morgan missed Family Night. She gets grounded and goes up stairs feeling tired and lost.

Chapter Nine: Fear
(Diary Entry: Alisa). It's school and lunch time. Morgan talks to Robbie and tells him what Bree said to her. Robbie argues that what she said is not totally true. He feels like he screwed up big time, and Morgan tells him to talk to Bree.
That afternoon Morgan is home doing some math homework. She hears the doorbell and answers to door. She finds Erin Murphy there and lets her in. Erin says she wants to practice with her even if Morgan wants to or not. They both go upstairs to Morgan's room to practice. Suddenly, Alisa comes into the room and chaos erupts again. Morgan starts to levitate. All are flabbergasted, and Alisa runs from the scene. Then Morgan hears a car screeching outside and both Erin and Morgan run to see what has just happened. They find a Dagda, Morgan's cat, lying on the ground dying. He's been hit by a car. Erin gets to work and starts using a healing spell to help the cat. The spell works and cat is alive but still hurt. Morgan and Mary K. go to the vet hospital.

Chapter Ten: Confrontation
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan and Mary K. drive to Paula Steen's vet hospital. They bring Dagda in and Paula quickly comes to the cat's aid.
Both sisters wait into the waiting room. Morgan tries to contemplate what happened. She talks with Mary K., and her sister reveals that Alisa is having problems at home. Paula comes back to announces that Dagda will be okay. He has a broken leg, but he will be fine. Morgan is relieved.
Morgan comes home to find her mother there. Mrs. Rowlands says that Mary K. told her she had a visitor when she was forbidden to have any. Both Mr. and Mrs. Rowlands have agreed to send her to Catholic school. This news leaves Morgan distraught.

Chapter Eleven: Connection
(Diary Entry: Alisa).
The next day Hunter vists Morgan. He tells her that Ciaran has contacted a woman with strong telekinetic powers. This might be the reason for the strange events that have been happening recently. He continues on to say that Erin has found a deflection spell. The spell will send the magick back to the spellcaster in threefolds. Morgan says she can't participate in the spelling because she is grounded, but Hunter gives her a stone (a lapis luzuli) to help keep contact with them during the spelling without her leaving the house. Hunter says that Sky is going back to Europe to do some investigation on his parents.
Morgan heads to school and finds Bree there. Bree wants to talk to her privately. She reveals to Morgan that she got back together with Robbie, but she cheated with Matt Alder during the breakup. Morgan insists she tells Robbie and Bree says she will.

Chapter Twelve: Restoration
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan makes a circle in her room. She then makes contact with Hunter, Sky, and Erin through her lapis luzuli. Her bounding spell gets lifted and the deflection spell is done.
Morgan wakes up feeling horrible, which surprises her. She shuffles to 5th period to give her extra credit assignment to Mr. Powell. At home, Mrs. Rowlands brings soup up to her daughter, thinking she is ill.

Chapter Thirteen: Flames
(Diary Entry: Alisa). It's Saturday. Mary K. announces that Alisa is in the hospital. Nobody knows why. She asks Morgan to take her to visit Alisa the next day. Morgan agrees.
Since Morgan cannot go to Kithic that night, she decides to scry with fire. She sees visions of Hunter waving, as if he is leaving her. It gives her a sense of dread. Morgan takes a shower and sends a witch message to Hunter. They talk about Kithic and Sky's departure to Europe.

Chapter Fourteen: Heal
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Morgan goes to church with her family. Afterwards, she and Mary K. go visit Alisa. Mary K. quickly leaves Morgan alone with Alisa. Morgan figures that Mary K. wants her to try to heal Alisa (after what she saw with Dagda). But before Morgan's eyes Alisa turns for the worse.

Chapter Fifteen: Lift
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Hunter contacts Morgan to tell her the Council has captured Ciaran. They will strip him of his powers. He also says that Ciaran had a piece of Morgan's hair in his possession. He goes on to say that Erin wants to lift the deflection spell.
The next day, Bree announces she talked to Robbie, and even though their discussion went badly, they are still together. Morgan comforts her friend.

Chapter Sixteen: Letting Go
(Diary Entry: Sarah Curtis). Mary K. calls Morgan downstairs to show her something. Morgan finds Alisa there in much better condition. Alisa says even though she is still weak, the recovery was quick. Suddenly, a picture falls to the ground and shatters. Morgan can't help but notice that the crack separates herself in the picture from her family.
Hunter calls to tell her he's leaving to pursue his parents. There is a big lead in Canada (courtesy of Sky). Since Ciaran is captured and Cal and Selene are dead, he finds he can devote his time to searching out his parents. Morgan is not very happy with this and silently wishes he would stay. He mentally tells her to trust him. She can't help but say I do.
