Briefly
Alisa Soto is the youngest member in Circle Kithic, at age 15. She was first introduced in Awakening but didn't make much of impact in the series until Strife.
Alisa Soto is half Hispanic, on her father's side. Her mother, Sarah Curtis, is white and died years ago of breast cancer. In the series her father is marrying a twenty-five-year-old woman named Hilary. The couple is expecting a child soon. Alisa doesn't approve at all.
Alisa has dark eyes and brownish-blonde hair. She is good friends with Mary Kathleen Rowlands. She doesn't particular like Mary K.'s older sister, Morgan Rowlands, but that soon changes.
Present Time
Alisa didn't really make an appearance until Strife. During a circle Kithic meeting, strange telekinetic occurrences start to happen. Everybody points the finger at Morgan (especially Alisa), but Morgan denies being the one causing the trouble.
Through Mary K.'s talks with Morgan and Alisa's own BOS entries, we learn that Alisa is having family problems. Her father is marrying a woman that she doesn't particularly like, and Alisa feels depressed and alone.
Alisa becomes afraid of Morgan's powers. She soon leaves circle Kithic, thinking Wicca isn't what she thought it would be. Morgan catches Alisa and Mary K. in the library writing a letter to the local paper about how dangerous Wicca is. Morgan catches them, and Alisa subsequently tears up the letter.
When the telekinetic events continue to happen, Morgan is reined of her powers. While Morgan is chatting with Erin Murphy, a Council Elder, Alisa barges into the room, and suddenly Morgan starts levitating. Later, Erin decides to use a three fold spell on the elusive culprit causing the telekinetic raids. After the spell is cast, Alisa falls deadly ill.
After Ciaran MacEwan is captured the three fold spell is lifted. Oddly, Aisa recovers from her illness.
Alisa narrates with Morgan in Eclipse. She steals a green-colored Book of Shadows from Morgan's book sack--only to find out the book's author is her late mother, Sarah Curtis. No only that, Sarah Curtis was a Rowanwand blood witch, which means Alisa is a half blood witch. Desolate over her witch heritage, she goes to Morgan for advice and solace. But Morgan and Hunter Naill are preoccupied with the impending dark wave that threatens to destroy them all. While blood witches feel the full effect of the pending dark wave, Alisa only gets a headache, since she's half human.
Alisa goes to Hunter for some answers. Hunter tells her that a dark wave is coming; they must destroy it before they all die. Since Hunter is a blood witch, along with Morgan and his father, they feel sicker and sicker as the dark wave approaches. Daniel Niall, Hunter's father, has found a spell that will dispell the dark wave, but the spell will kill any blood witch who casts it. That night Alisa thinks about doing the spell. Since she's half human, it won't affect her like the others. Alisa goes to Hunter and Daniel with her proposition. After much protest, both Hunter and Daniel agree to her plan and teach her the spell as backup.
When Ciaran, is captured (again) and stripped of his powers, everybody believes the dark wave threat is over. But the dark wave is still coming--with or without Ciaran.
Hunter and Daniel try to teach Alisa the disbanding spell, but there is too little time. Suddenly, Hunter has an idea: a three-way tàth meànma; Daniel connects with Morgan and Morgan connects with Alisa as the spell is cast.
Daniel, Hunter, Morgan, and Alisa go the old Methodist cemetery to conduct the spell. Alisa starts the spell and stumbles at times, but Morgan and Daniel are there, in her mind, to help her through. The spell works.
Alisa narrates book 13, Reckoning. When Mary K. finds out Alisa is a blood witch, Mary K. abandons her. Soon Alisa has an argument with her father that turns nasty. Alisa decides to runaway to her see her Uncle Sam that she has contacted through email.
When she finally meets Sam, he is surprised but welcomes her with open arms. Unfortunately, Alisa's grandmother, Evelyn Curtis, doesn't welcome her at all.
During Alisa's stay, strange telekinetic events happen. The whole Curtis family believes it's the act of Oona Boyle, an ancestor. Sam tries to coax his mother into getting help, but Evelyn refuses. As the story unfolds, Alisa finds out about her family history. She falls in love with a witch named Charlie Findgoll. But there is one catch to Charlie: he has a girlfriend named Brigid, Alisa's cousin.
Towards the end of the book, the Curtis family finds out that the series of psychic attacks were not caused by ghost. In fact, the attacks have been plaguing the female line of Alisa's family for generations. These attacks are traced back to Oona. Before Oona had her fatal accident (or suicide, take your pick), she hexed her own daughter, Márían. This hex created the telekinesis "curse". Every first born daughter after Oona's curse has uncontrollable telekinesis: Márían, Evelyn, Sarah, and Alisa. As each girl grows older, the powers escalate and grow more erratic. These powers are especially potent when the person is under some type of strong emotion or stress.
Alisa and Evelyn do a tāth meānma to find out this information. The tāth meānma also reveals Evelyn as the culprit of all the psychic attacks that have happened recently. Once the meld is done, Evelyn is humbled and realizes her mistake. She feels guilty for pushing her daughter Sarah away.
Evelyn has agreed to meet up with a specialist that Hunter has found. The book ends with Evelyn giving Alisa Sarah's witch tools. Charlie breaks up with Brigid to be with Alisa.
There is very little mention of Alisa in Full Circle. According to Morgan, Alisa is happy. Alisa appears to have made amends with her father, Hilary, and Mary K. She is still dating Charlie.
Note: There is really no significant mention of Alisa in Night's Child.
